The artist Irantzu Lekue exhibited “Silence” in July in the ARTgia Sorgune &Aretoa exhibition room in Judimendi in Vitoria-Gasteiz. A demonstration of strong autobiographical character, personal, experimental and intimate. Pieces of work created at different stages of her career, experimented in diverse places and times. Records of plans and designs for pieces of work for open and closed spaces, ephemeral and permanent. Audiovisual works, objects intervened, pictorial works, material works, all around one word: silence
“Silence …… There are many silences we keep. From others and from ourselves. Premeditated silences, ones with a purpose, or imposed silences. The exhibition includes works of a marked social nature from an inward- looking perspective.”
